Effective date: 1 September 2026
Last updated: 1 September 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the "Winter Arc Challenge" mobile application
("the App", "we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use it.
By using the App you agree to this policy.
# 1. Who we are
Winter Arc Challenge is an independent, personal project.
Contact: **sr92249@gmail.com**
# 2. Information we collect
## a. Information you provide
- **Google account details** when you sign in with Google: your name, email
address, profile photo, and Google account identifier.
- **Profile information** you enter: display name, username, and optional bio.
- **Habit and activity data** you create in the App: your habits, daily
check-ins / completions, streaks, challenges you create or join, and friend
connections (friend requests, accepted friends).
### b. Information collected automatically
- **Device and usage data** via Google Analytics for Firebase: app opens,
screens viewed, in-app events (e.g. sign-in, habit completed, challenge
created), app version, device model, operating system version, language,
and general region.
- **Push notification token** (Firebase Cloud Messaging) so we can send you
reminders and friend-request notifications.
- **Advertising identifier** and related data used by Google AdMob to serve
and measure ads (see Section 5).
- **Approximate diagnostics / crash data** to keep the App stable.
We do **not** collect precise location, contacts, photos, or payment
information. The App contains no real-money features.
## 3. How we use information
- Create and secure your account and authenticate you.
- Provide core features: habit tracking, streaks, challenges, and the friends
feature (showing your progress to friends you have added, and theirs to you).
- Send push notifications you have enabled.
- Understand how the App is used and improve it (analytics).
- Display advertising to support the App (see Section 5).
- Detect, prevent, and address abuse, fraud, or technical problems.
## 4. How information is shared
We use the following third-party services, which process data on our behalf or
as independent controllers under their own privacy policies:
| Provider | Purpose | Policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Messaging, Cloud Functions, Analytics)
| Account, data storage, notifications, analytics | https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
|
| Google AdMob | Advertising | https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads |
| Google Sign-In | Authentication | https://policies.google.com/privacy |
Your habit progress, streaks, and profile (name, username, photo) are visible
to users you have accepted as friends within the App. We do not sell your
personal information. We may disclose information if required by law or to
protect our rights and users' safety.
## 5. Advertising
The App shows banner and interstitial ads through Google AdMob. AdMob and its
partners may use an advertising identifier and limited data to serve
personalised or non-personalised ads and to measure their performance.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland,
we present a Google-certified consent request (Google User Messaging Platform)
on first launch, and your choice is respected. You can change your choice later
from the App or your device settings.
You can reset or limit ad tracking via your device: **Android** → Settings →
Google → Ads.
## 6. Data retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. Analytics data is
retained according to Google's default retention settings. You can request
deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Section 7).
## 7. Your choices and rights
- **Access / correction:** you can view and edit your profile and habit data in
the App.
- **Account and data deletion:** email **sr92249@gmail.com** from your
registered address with the subject "Delete my account". We will delete your
profile, habit data, challenges, and friend connections within 30 days,
except where retention is required by law.
- **Notifications:** disable them in your device settings at any time.
- **Analytics:** you may opt out of Google Analytics for Firebase collection
through the App where available, or by uninstalling the App.
Depending on where you live (e.g. EEA/UK under GDPR, California under CCPA/CPRA),
you may have additional rights including data portability and the right to
object to or restrict processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.
## 8. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital
consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from
children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will
delete it.
## 9. Data security and location
Data is stored on Google Cloud / Firebase servers and may be processed in the
United States and other countries where Google operates. We rely on Google's
security measures and use industry-standard safeguards, but no method of
transmission or storage is completely secure.
